Free Webinar: Generation Mobile: Using Technology to Improve Student Engagement
June 21, 2 PM ET

Often, navigating the complexity of campus life can be a barrier to student success. Research suggests that non-academic factors are a growing challenge for the 1-in-3 first-year college students who fail to return for a second year.

Recognizing that student engagement is a critical part of retention, a growing number of universities – from Ohio’s Youngstown State to Oglethorpe University in Georgia– are addressing this challenge by reaching students where they’re at: on their smartphone. College-aged Americans check their devices more than 150 times per day, and a growing body of research suggests that rise of mobile can be a critical solution to improving the student experience.

In this webinar, we will hear how the student affairs offices at three different kinds of universities are tapping technology to ease friction for new students and better connect students to campus life and services.  The webinar will cover the following topics, among others:

  • The link between student engagement beyond the classroom and retention
  • The role of apps in engaging non-traditional and first-generation students
  • Implementing new methodologies in co-curricular assessment
  • How to close communication gaps on campus between administrators and students
Join Eddie Howard (AVP - Youngstown State), Chris Schmidt (Dean – Lindsey Wilson) and Shane Pruitt (Director - Oglethorpe) on Wednesday, June 21st at 2:00 PM ET for a lively discussion about the role of technology in improving the campus experience, moderated by Dr. Carney Strange (Professor Emeritus, Bowling Green State).
