Code of Conduct

Network.NAFSA Code of Conduct

Welcome to Network.NAFSA! The purpose of this online platform is to encourage discussion, dialogue, and engagement among and with the NAFSA community.

Network.NAFSA offers diverse online networking opportunities through:

    • Professional Networks tailored to specific career areas
    • Interest Group Networks celebrating world areas, institutional, and personal identities
    • Regional Networks highlighting NAFSA's work within geographic regions in the United States

Each community is managed by a volunteer in partnership with NAFSA staff. Network.NAFSA communities include discussion boards, event calendars, and blog posts. Additionally, NAFSA members receive access to a community’s subscribers directory.

All subscribers agree to a Code of Conduct, outlined below. NAFSA reserves the right to prescreen postings, remove content that violates our standards, and manage subscriber participation to maintain a positive community experience.

Please submit questions about the Code of Conduct via the contact form. Please see the Network.NAFSA Help Guide for an explanation of network settings.

    • Posts must stimulate conversation and add to the body of knowledge. Spam and advertisements will be removed.
    • Post to the most appropriate community or interest group with a clear subject line. Unapproved cross-posting to more than two communities will be considered spam and will be subject to removal.
    • NAFSA provides a NAFSA Job Registry to advertise job announcements. Limit job posts on Network.NAFSA to 2-3 sentences, share to no more than two communities, and include a link to the full description. Job announcements exceeding 2-3 sentences will be edited accordingly.
    • Posts about non-NAFSA professional events and opportunities must be limited to 2-3 sentences (no attachments) and then a link for more information. Ensure the content aligns with the interests of and is relevant to the selected Network.NAFSA communities. Share to no more than two communities. Comprehensive advertising opportunities are also available through the NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo, NAFSA Regional Conferences, International Educator magazine, and the Global Partnership Program.
    • Posts requesting the completion of a survey or to participate in a research project must later share summary results in the same network. Limit the post to 2-3 sentences with the survey link (no attachments) and share to no more than two communities.
    • Use caution when discussing products, organizations, and individuals. Do not engage in libel, slander, or breaches of antitrust laws.
    • Content is not confidential. Other participants may reproduce postings from this site (see Legal Disclaimer below)
