In the current Strategic Action Plan (2009-2018), an internationalization committee, which reports to our Strategic Planning department, was appointed with the task of developing an internationalization plan with short, medium, and long-term strategies. Current structures in La Salle promote internationalization as a responsibility of CIEL; students, faculty, and administrators perceive internationalization as activities and actions that must be proposed, managed, assessed, and directed by CIEL

The event included opening remarks by Alan Ruby from the University of Pennsylvania and a Senior Fellow of Internationalization at NAFSA, two panels of research presentations (7 presentations total), and an open discussion where attendees were encouraged to talk about synergies between the different research presentations, how theoretical work relates to practice in international education, and how to get more involved and communicate with or contribute to the work of non-academics in the field
Institutions seeking innovative and entrepreneurial internationalization strategies have taken advantage of these trends and conceived of new ways to internationalization their academic programs
